‘Na ketekete qele’is a dramatised version of a legend. It’s about how an island was formed, typical of how some other islands in Fiji are told to have been formed, in this case the island of Naigani. Infused into this itukuni is the ‘sakuka’ character, an irritating and comic impersonator of the chief’s son. The aim of this project is to support Fijian Studies at USP and to promote Fijian language, culture and heritage. |
